The wonderful Hilldale Fair & Fun Dog Show

 

Each year, in May, we run the Hilldale Fair and Fun Dog Show in the Hilldale Playing Field.

The next Fun Dog Show will be on Saturday 14th May 2022

The next Hilldale Fair will be on Saturday 4th June  2022

We will also celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee over the weekend of 3 to 6th June 2022

In 2019, the main event of the afternoon was the crowning of the Hilldale Rose Queen, Sylvie Dickinson.

After parading around the Field with her retinue and the Red Admirals Marching Band, Sylvie was crowned by Councillor May Blake.

The running order for the Fair is typically:

  • 1:00 pm  - Registration for  The Fun Dog Show starts
  • 1:00 pm - The Rose Queen and her retinue parade around the Hilldale Playing Field led by the Red Admirals Brass Band.
  • 1:15 pm - The Rose Queen is crowned
  • 1:30 pm - The Fair is opened by the guest of honour
  • 3:30 pm - The famous Hilldale Fair Raffle is drawn

Come for all the fun of the Fair.

  • There is a Marching Band.
  • There are Morris Dancers.
  • There are stalls which can include: arts and crafts, cakes, plants, toys, tombola and many more.
  • There is a Bouncy Castle, or maybe 2.
  • There is our great BBQ with burgers, sausages and chips
  • There are Cream Teas in the Village Hall
  • All of our food is sourced locally and is REALLY good.

Please help

Prizes wanted:  Please donate prizes for the raffle and the tombola. If you can help, let us know using stalls@hilldale-ca.org and we'll arrange to collect them or let you know where to drop them off.

Volunteers wanted: With a few more helping hands we could do so much more. We could have some more stalls - perhaps Wellie wanging or Hoop-la, stocks, skittles, treasure hunt; we could have sports; we could do lots of things but we can't do them without more help.
